My son and I went down to Redsfest this month and the Reds were giving away a tote bag and a DVD at the festival. I've got a couple listed on eBay for sale. The listing ends on Friday so I can get them mailed before Christmas. Very nice item.

The Book Store is Expanding
I've updated the Book Store section in the TSC Sales store - added more categories that I think folks will find of interest.
The bookstore is divided as follows:
The bookstore is divided as follows:
- Collectibles - Signed Books
- Humor
- Mystery, Suspense & Thrillers
- Science Fiction
- Spirituality
- Sports Books of All Other Sorts
- Take Me Out To The Ballgame - Baseball Books
More sections will be added as I have time and I haven't had a chance to stock the shelves, if you will, but will add more books as time allows. I've got a great number of good science fiction books.
One of the great finds I've put in the store is one lot of three James Bond novels: Thunderball, Casino Royale, and You Only Live Twice. The books are vintage Signet paperbacks from the mid 1960's. I even have an affordable overnight delivery option with in the contiguous 48 states.
Don't forget to check my inventory at Amazon too - everything here is also there. Just click on the link to the right.

Sparkie & Big Jon
The same day I found the Bennett Cerf book, I picked up a vintage magazine called TV Radio Mirror; the May, 1956 issue. The issue told of that year's awards for viewers or listeners' favorite shows (hence the name TV Radio Mirror). Fascinating find and had so many great oldtime shows.
The real surprise personally was the bit about the show named the favorite children's program on radio, Sparkie & Big Jon, a radio show that began here in Cincinnati, broadcasting daily. By 1956, it was a weekly show, on Saturday mornings, I believe. The reason it jumped out at me is that a friend's dad was the writer for this show during its run on radio. I made copies of the article for my friend and she was going to give some to her family (their dad passed away earlier this year), so they're enjoying reading about the show and its popularity.
Have a look at the listing here.

Laughing with Bennett Cerf
Last year, I picked up a copy of Bennett Cerf's Vest Pocket Book of Jokes, a faux leather volume that fits, where else, but in your shirt pocket. This particular copy had a number of news clipping jokes inserted inside too. Then last week, I came across a new book, Bennett Cerf Laugh Day - a paperwork book of jokes.
Cerf was one of the founders of the publisher Random House and became known for his collections of humor. Both books are listed in my eCrater store - a great gift idea for that humorist in your life!
